A historic gatehouse was transformed into a middle school Arts & Innovation Center, incorporating a maker space, fabrication laboratories and studios for digital as well as traditional fine art disciplines. The reception area and meeting rooms provide flexible spaces that can accommodate regular classroom use as well as private meetings, special events and student presentations. The lighting control systems were designed to provide flexible performance with simple, fully intuitive user interfaces, while decorative and performance lumainire types were combined to honor the historic architecture while minimizing maintenance requirements in challenging laboratory and studio environments.
